2026 represents a particularly significant milestone: the first edition of the CIM took place in 1976, and this twenty-fifth edition celebrates fifty years of the Colloquium in a highly significant cultural and historical context. Half a century of research, experimentation, and discussion has accompanied and documented the evolution of computer music in Italy and internationally, contributing to the growth of an increasingly broad and interdisciplinary scientific and artistic community, fostering the intersection of academic perspectives and creative practices.
This edition, with the theme ” Sounding the Posthuman ,” invites reflection on contemporary sound practices understood as hybrid ecosystems, in which creative and perceptive action is no longer exclusively attributable to humans, but develops through interaction with multiple non-human agents: algorithms, intelligent systems, technological devices, interactive environments, and networks. From this perspective, sound becomes a space for co-evolution between humans and technology, between matter and information, between intentionality and the autonomy of systems.
The Colloquium program includes scientific and artistic contributions, musical activities, and sharing and discussion initiatives. Papers are selected through a call for papers , while musical and sound art works are selected through a call for works . All contributions must conform to the manuscript templates required for the Conference proceedings. Submissions, peer review, and communication with authors are managed through the EasyChair platform .
Participation in the Colloquium for authors and listeners is free, in order to encourage the widest participation of the scientific and artistic community.
Paper, poster, demo, and artwork presentations will take place in L’Aquila. The detailed program, including dates, times, locations, and information on travel and accommodation, will be published on this website.
